Bay leaves are a valuable export product that grows naturally on Turkey's Mediterranean and Aegean coasts. The Hatay, Mersin and Muğla regions are the main production centers. Adding deep aroma to broths, soups and stews, bay leaves are also the raw material for laurel oil production. Turkey is one of the leading countries in global bay leaf exports.
